£235 is a fair wedge to save & would go a long way towards pedals, shoes or upgrades.

I personally prefer spd-sl road shoes over spd mtb style but they are a bu66er to walk in (without looking daft)

yeh ive had both but prefer comfort over speed especially these days so im going for the mountain bike style again, ive demolished my olds ones, back on my road shoes and dont like them

emailed work, waiting for a reply, ill keep everyone updated

Hi all,

thanks for the advice, it looks like due to the confusion they have kindly cancelled the scheme, just waiting for confirmation, very happy as it means i can get my bike from halfords as hoped, boardman CX team it is then

Can i use my british cycling discount with the halfords discount?

Haven't read all the responses so if I've repeated, sorry, but Boardman are no longer exclusive to Halfords. No reason why you still can't get one on cycle scheme. A local bike shop near me stocks them.

arh - never knew that, asked in some shops and they said they couldnt, never mind, with the discount im getting it works out similar to getting it on a C2W scheme at full cost. I wouldnt want to go back to work and ask them to reinstate it!!!!! theve been good tbh so ill just crack on and buy outright, job done then

I thought other retailers tended to have only the 'elite' Boardman ranges what ever those are called, rather than the sub 1k models that Halfords have

If you click on buy here, it says that the 'performance' series are exclusive to Halfords

Enjoy the new bike when it arrives, David  It's the best looking Boardman bike IMO, just needs some red bartape ;)
What she said , i believe you can get up to about 1.5 k , although if you wanted to get an elite i bet they could .

Update - yes they've agreed to cancel the voucher due to the confusion, they were very good about it.
Halfords say the British cycling discount can be used in conjunction with a store discount but not web exclusive, mince this deal was in the shop and on the Internet it can be used with the boardman

So I have ordered the bike to be collected late Feb when I've saved up! I'll get it for around £700 when I add mudguards, the other bits I need I'll get off eBay .

Cannot wait, glad I have to wait until March as that's the month I'm hoping to step up the miles
