great news cycle to work scheme has started again where i work and this year they have increased the value up to £1000(£500 last year) BAD news got wait till october until i can order a new bike because got finish paying off this one 1st but at least it gives me an excuse to be looking at new bikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got my final payment letter .
To keep the bike i have to pay ...

£30 + £34 tax on the final value , thats after a year of £42 a month net.

Total of £568 for an £800 bike so i am happy

my company only runs the sceme once a yera and like yours they overlap so realistically you can get a bike every 2 years although i am done buying for the near future, i just want some nice wheels for the boardman and i will be happy .

I'm one of only two cyclists at work, and the other cyclist is the fag in mouth cycling on the pavement variety. There are only ten employees where I work so my md sadly doesn't have a great deal of motivation to sign up for cycle to work schemes

might just save up without SWMBO knowing and buy one outright.

I bought a Ribble Sportive (Ali 7005 with SRAM groupset) for £904 (inc. del.), after Ribble's £65 admin fee and the 7%-and-keep-using-for-three-years, I pay a total of ~£740 (82%). If I go with the other FMV of 25%-and-be-done I'd pay a total of a couple of quid more than the original £904.

I think after the year is up I can still go for another bike, but probably won't.

I started looking last August, but cock-up after cock-up (mostly lack of communication within my company) delayed me getting the bike until last week. Today was my first commute on it and I've knocked a quarter off the usual times, I am a happy bunny surprising myself with an average of 20 mph - wondering what it'll be on the way home as I'll have a back-wind but it's slightly uphill!

Both the Cyclescheme staff (mostly Paul ) and Ribble have been great. I know Ribble get knocked for their customer service but I had an issue with the front innertube (suspected nipped tube when fitted) and got two (upgraded to conti's) free a day or so later, and all communications was prompt and courteous.

My local bike doctor is very patiently building me a single speed bit by bit as I sell possessions and hand the money to him. When I eventually get a pay rise I'll hopefully afford some gears

Good scheme! what will you be looking at?

dont want start looking yet(ive had a peak) but until it gets a bit closer i dont want get hooked on something then see the price go up but had a carrera tdf for my 1st roadie and really enjoyed riding it so will keep that has my work/commute bike, but just want go up spec really,so not really sure have use halfords or leisurelake bikes so got plenty choose from, and the boardman bikes look really nice.

How can I convince my boss to buy me a bike for this scheme, It sounds stupid, why didnt the goverement just pay for the bike and you pay them back through your deductions in your pay check? I mean, ow boss, can you but me a £1000 bike please ill pay you back blar blar blar, I just dont see it happening, as many others must be in my posistion.

I've been thinking about taking up the scheme to buy myself one of those ugly, bendy clown bikes as it would be more convenient than my big bikes for taking home and I'd also be able to take it on the tube if I'm feeling lazy or drunk.
