Here for rides.
Has anyone managed to get a tandem on bike2work for sub £1000? Sort of thinking about it for when mine comes up for renewal so the lovely Helen can be persuaded to come out for rides of a weekend. I see someone locally regularly riding their Thorn solo, on the singleton leg of the school journey, so I guess riding one up isn't the end of the world.

Either a tandem or possibly a Boardman Team Carbon and given the general paunchiness of my flabby body I'd look stupid on the latter....

You would have to justify the tandem as coming under the "most journeys are for work purposes" requirement?

To whom? Have you ever heard of that being enforced or even audited? I haven't, and in my circle of friends we have direct experience of 7 different orgs. bike-to-work schemes and none of them have heard of audit or enforcement of it either.

Your employers.

Maybe the chances of an audit are low but they are the ones who will probably be left with the tax bill. That, IMO, is why most of the big company schemes are considerably more rigid than the DfT allows.
