Try www.cycle-cafe.net

It doesn't have the word chat in it, which gets around some filters.

Cheers Admin! Will try.

Have you tried using an anonymous proxy?

Good idea but likely that there is restrictive GP in force on the domain that does not allow the configuring of this within IE or alternative.

Your company dont use Sophos by any chance do they FF ?

Its too much of a coincidence that i have exactly the same problem on the same day !
I wonder if its a software update rather than our respective IT guys getting a bit 'nazi' as you put it ;)

Have you tried asking them to allow it?? It's probably a default rule added with an auto update of the firewall.

We had an 'Explorer' update and the Denial happened after that.
BUT!

Admins sneaky fix works (well at least through the VPN, so it should work at my desk!

3 Cheers for Admin...

Depends if your VPN setup it using your own public IP on the net rather than routing you through the LAN you are connected to through the VPN.

IIRC It goes via the LAN at work as you can see the website restriction stuff operating.

I wouldn't be too sure of that. I'm Network Manager at a group of schools and though we try to block proxy sites the pupils are exceedingly good at finding new ones that our systems don't block. Besides, there's no configuring of IE involved, it's just a web site that then allows you to hop off somewhere else without appearing to go there.
