A Tour Of Iconic Bicycle Designs by Michael Embacher

I've just got it out the library, that's me set for the night. Just had a quick look, wow there are some weird things in there ! It would have been interesting to know how much these bikes cost when they were released.

This cycling malarkey is addictive. I've started checking out the few bikes I see in town. Oh no, I'm a bike - spotter !

Well I pored over that book last night. O.o some very strange stuff in there. Don't think I'll be seeing any of them out on the roads !

The big temptation with contraptions like that is to start planning how best to make one.......that way lies hours of fun!!

I've just finished reading Robert Penn's 'It's all about the bike. The pursuit of happiness on two wheels'. It's about Penn's search to build the perfect bicycle. He goes around the world getting the best components from the best sources. The piece about the guy in America building the wheels is sheer poetry. A bit more effort than popping down to Halfords for a new bike! Anyway, there's some great historical stuff in there too about the rise (and fall) of cycling. I'm not normally into technical stuff, but I learned quite a bit about how the bike works. All in all a good read.

I remember someone bought me the Eye Spy book of cycling.

... and sadly I either owned or had owned every single entry!
