Hello all,
I'm currently planning out my morning commute to work.. I've been reading the online leaflet from FGW regarding carriage of cycles on their trains:
http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/~/media/PDF/AboutUs/CyclingPolicy/Cycle by train_Nov_2011.pdf
From what I understand, I would need to get the train from Taplow at 0602hrs to arrive at West Drayton at 0621hrs. I would then cycle Northbound to Uxbridge via the great union canal, to my place of work.
Reading the leaflet, would anyone else be able to confirm that I am outside the "peak" carriage times.. ? From my reading, as the train arrives at London Paddington before 0745hrs then it is not restricted.
From what I understand the 0602hrs train doesn't actually reach London Paddington, therefore the cycle limit for Peak times does not apply, no ?
That in itself is sorted, however the real question comes from the following paragraph:
"Evening peak – any service departing London Paddington between 1630 and 1900 inclusive, and departing Reading and arriving in Wokingham between 1630 and 1900 inclusive"
For example the 1536hrs service which does not start at London Paddington, leaves West Drayton at 1536hrs and arrives at Taplow at 1551hrs therefore is not covered by this restriction ?
If the train I catch never actually leaves with passengers (not due to pick up) from London Paddington, then this means I can travel on the train with the bike as long as there is space etc ?
Sorry if this sounds a bit confusing, i tried calling customer services to clarify but the hold music has nearly driven me insane !
