+ 1 for French Revolutions, also, the two Alastair Humphreys ones about his ride round the world are very good (Moods of Future Joys and the other one is called Thunder and Sunshine I think).

"Cycling Back To Happines"s by Bernie Friend was not bad either.

try: "Dancing Uphill" about cyclist Charles Holland who was the first englishman to ride in the TDF. Fairly short but interesting enough

I always recommend "The Flying Scotsman" by Graeme Obree.
