I'd have joined, for as long as possible.

On yesterday's Etape Pennines at one point I looked back and there was a line of 7-8 riders behind me, all drafting. I didn't mind (much) but one could have at least spent a couple of minutes on the front. No-one did, so I upped the pace and left them
