I went on the mountain bike today. The ten miles home out of Liverpool is an upwards trajectory, tonight it was into the wind all the way which on some stretches almost stopped me moving. Took me 1hr 10 min. Wind, snow, sleet, slush and cold. Loved every minute. Glad of the knobbly tires though.

Today was the best day for months, 15 miles home, guided bus way was covered in over an inch of snow, so for 12 miles it was snow, snow ,snow !, studded tyres on my MTB, and a tail wind. Absolutely brilliant. Reminded me of being a kid it was so much fun.

I was disappointed when I reached the end. Praying for more snow ready for Monday.

Likewise, tail wind and what seemed like a blizzard. Fitted nobblies a few days ago. 12 mile commute at speeds of over 20mph.

One of the best cycle trips for some years. Lets have some more on Monday

So found out from DX secure automated system and internet that they re-arranged the delivery for Tuesday 22nd,very clever as im working for seven days from that date. What do they think? We can all wait at home all day waiting for a delivery that doesn't turn up?
Want to speak to someone not a bloody automated system but no luck.RE-Arranged for Wed 30th January, lets hope we dont have a flake of snow otherwise I will go through this BS again. The tracking is useless it doesn't tell me anything.British companies generally are crap.

The rearrangement seems to have gone through.Im just worried if it will be safe as it's going to be hanging about somewhere for 11 days before delivery. If the tracking did actually work then perhaps I wouldn't have to hang around all day for nothing.

All will be forgiven if it gets through ok and I will declare world peace once again.

Weirdest things happened to me on my commute into work this morning:

Incident 1: We had 15 cm of snow overnight. I was cycling up my normal route. It wasn't plowed in spots so it was quite a bit of work. Some guy I've never seen before was on the side of the road trying to get is bike going and ended up walking it down the street. I passed him as he called out: "How do you get used to this? I see you all the time and you make it look easy." I told him today probably wasn't the day to start, and it was going to be a difficult go this morning, but take it slow and follow the car tracks.

Incident 2: Another couple of Kms later, I come up on someone walking on the bike path. He sees my light and gets off to one side. As I am passing him, I tell him there's no need since in this snow, I'm not going much faster than him. He calls after me saying, "You're that girl I keep seeing cycling on [insert my street]. Totally hard core!"

Crappy weather commute day turned into an awesome commute day!
