+1 to Sports DirectI am in East London and it hasn't been all that cold, yet!
Sports Direct is where I usually end up, as its quite cheap...
Muddy Fox mountain bike shorts, Nike football socks, Karrimoor running t-shirt and running fleece, Muddy Fox gloves and Karrimor wind proof thermal hat, seems to do me fine on my commuting hybrid bike during the week.
But there is one bit of kit I am glad I got, that is the red Altura Night Vision jacket, but it was £90, so...
You may find cheaper online and I am sure some people will have much better suggestions, but I just go with what I have found comfortable.
.
For base layers i am currently using summer jerseys with arm warmer , mid layer is a roubaix ( fleecy ) aldi long sleeve jacket and a decathlon running gilet .
On the legs i have normal decthlon cheap shorts and Ron Hill Bikesters.
Hello to all friendly people here
i am kind of new to cycling and this winter will be my first.
cycling gear is way too expensive with all those campagnolo, specialized etc brands even their baselayers are crazy prices (or i am too tight :/)
could please share your tips how you manage in terms of clothing and winter protection.
thanks
Stay safe

I was going to say that January and February tend to be the coldest/snowiest months...I shouldn't have said that - now it's started snowing!
