"TBH, think your GP is talking carp"

I haven't talked to my GP about my calf strain. All I can do is listen to my body. If my muscle is damaged, it's damaged, no amount of cycling prejudice ("it's non impact therefore it's good for you") is going to make it better.

I've tried riding while it recovered and I've made it worse. So now it's no exercise until it's healed. And then I'll build up the miles again more slowly than last time.

Two days down (four tube journeys down), five days to go (six tube journeys to go). I usually get a seat, not that it matters sitting is worse for it that standing, I can feel the tightness grow during the day while I sit at my desk.

Apologies for all the moaning.

Hmm - yesterday was a bad day when I felt that anyone looking at me shuffling around would think I was 80, today I've managed to get on the bike (ok I had to lower it to get on), and done the school run.

I can feel the tightness grow during the day while I sit at my desk.

Make sure you are moving it around at least every hour ... I've been working from home but making sure that I get up and wander around and stretch rather than settling into one position. And that program on "Not growing old" (can't remember exactly what its called), made me pick up the entire pile of shoes my son had dumped on the floor, literally two shoes at a time rather than giving in to the "I can't do it" mentality.
