That's okay, I can take it. :-D

Another thing hurting me is hills. I'm still 35 lbs overweight. As I lose weight I should get a little stronger. Still only so fast I'll go anyway. A lot of rides are Just for Fun group rides. Once I get out of the financial bind I'm in I'd like to invest in a road bike.

Good for you mate, got my first road bike since I was kid four weeks ago. Three years ago I'd just got my first hybrid, was doing as you do, building up steady. Doing my own thing. Did 74 miles on Sunday up in the North Pennines. Suffer score 145 -

I envy you folks who can crank out those monster rides. Even if I had the conditioning for it, my back would never hold out that long.

Did your Sunday ride have climbs?

Yes quite hilly, not exactly sure but according to my cycling app I climbed 4550 for the first 27 miles. I then dropped 3000 ft, for the next 8 miles on the way back I went a different way, because I couldn't face the climb. Little did I know the next 20 miles were up hill followed by roughly 17 down.
Oddly enough I've suffered bad backs since my early twenties, but I believe cycling has Strengthened me in the area making me less prone to back ache, this said I realise everyone's different. Just keep it up, but don't rush things
