Well maybe not, it's just me !

I've started developing poor eyesight after long time in the saddle even though I always wear safety specs. Say anything more than 3 hours on the bike then my eyes suffer.

Doing 200km over 10hrs or so and my eyes become really noticiceably bluured so I decided an eye test was due.

Appointment was today and it turns out I need some gl@@sses.

I chose some like here. I didn't fancy a small frame as I have a big head lol

I really wanted some sport glasses though they were a little expensive £££££££3

I mentioned to the kind lady who tested my eyes how it mainly effects me while doing longer distances on the bike. Turns out my optition is more crazy about cycling than me so we had a really great conversation about bikes and cycling. Turns out she has eight bikes and loves cycling in France.

Also worth looking at online sellers like glasses direct. Just got my Oakley specs (non cycling) reglaized with untira thin transitions lenses for £104. The optician wanted £170 for non-transitions lenses. They are doing 2 pairs for about £130 with ultra thin lenses.

That sounds like a good deal.

I decided sitting on my glasses last night for some reason and totally trashed them  Only had them weeks :-/

Im one for using local family businesses and much as possible although it ain't always practical, a bit like using my local bike shop other than somewhere like Evans, so anyway I popped into my local opticians this morning and told them 'I've destroyed them '

They said 'no problem, we'll fix them for free this time, though not if it happens again, come in at 4.30 today and they'll be ready with a new frame'.

Fantastic. Not sure if Id have got that kind a service from one of the big name high street shops

I know this will have been posted before, but this is a brilliant Oakley advert from last year's Tour!:
