Cycling on TdF stage on the morning before the race

That's dissapointing, but thanks for the answers! I'll set off at 5:30 anyway, let's see how far I can go...

It's not going to help anyone now, but I rode to Rayne (near Braintree) and at 8am no one from the organisers seemed to be bothered by cyclists, they all let us go — I imagine you could have gone all the way to London.

They let us onto the road after the peloton had gone through, cycled the last four miles past buc palace and onto the mall. Got to within 250 metres of the start line before they barriered up.
