Very good.
Even more bizarrely, grown men are doing it and there is an organised league.
People have been doing it for years - someone I went to school with in Coventry was dead keen on cycle speedway about 45 years ago.

Well, what do you know - the club is still going - website!

Yep, that's it. I'm sure there must be someone here in CC that does it and I don't want to be disparaging, but I've never heard of it and it looked to me just like the sort of thing you'd do with your mates round your back garden when you were 10 years old.

Don't have sky sports but just you tubed it- it looks like some sort of whacky races, could be a laugh though- bet it's fun in the rain.

They were on hearsal Common when I lived in the Earlsdon part of the city, I must admit I couldn't see the attraction in it, not going round in small circles anyway.

That's where the track in the photo is.

I never liked doing sprint events so cycle speedway wouldn't be for me, but I can see the appeal for people who like intense competition.

I'd much rather try and do a century ride in a reasonably quick time. (5 hours-ish.)
