Just seen a free paper produced by the City Council and I see that they are introducing cycling parking attendants. The parking attendants will have bicycle rather than mopeds and encouraged to ticket vehicles which are badly parked and cause an obstruction to cyclists.

I suspect that it is just a cost cutting measure on the grounds that push bikes are cheaper to run than mopeds, but anything that get more people out cycling has got to be a good thing. Although it will up set a few petrol heads...

I had a go at one of the moped riding ones for riding in the bus lane once. He insisted that he was allowed to, but backed down when I asked to see his ID and asked him to state the relevant bit of legislation.

Nah it is the same old tax, just a different spin on it, but it does mean that any cyclist wearing Hi-Viz and a helmet is at risk of being mistaken for a parking attendant ;)

My pet hate with these guys is that they do their CBT, slap on an L plate and then never bother to take their test.

... just like all other moped riders, I suppose tho.

So great, make them cycle. Of course, once the number of tickets issued drops they'll be back on their mopeds...
