I dont mean the typical type of advantages like fitness, etc, but specifically towards schemes available and rewards. I dont know if my employer would consider a scheme like Ride2Work or Cyclescheme so is there anything out there just for employees?

Not that I'm aware of, but the case for cycle 2 work is very compelling considering the little effort it takes on behalf of the employer, and the fact it doesn't cost them anything to do it, and the admin is all handled by the bike supplier.

So they didn't say 'have you any questions for us Matthew?'
See 400's post. I didnt want to say I was planning on cycling because them might have then thought otherwise about giving me the job. The commute route isnt exactly the safest and consists of National speed limit single lanes and a dual carriageway.

In between here and there
Possibly in my induction, I could test my sales skills by trying to coax them into signing up for a scheme. The worst they can do is say no.
Have to say that would really iritate me a new employee hassling on their first day for fringe benefits, just get on an do the job for a while see how it pans out and build a bit of rapport before going steaming straight in there.

Anyway just use your Secteur!

Just remember that the speed limit on the dual carriageway is 70! Don't get carried away on those pedals if you happen to be late.

I am going to practice the commute a few times over the weekend just to get used to how long it will take me to ride. I will try to head out in the morning too to see what the traffic is like.

Who can participate in the scheme?

Any size employer from any sector can partner with Cyclescheme. Eligible employees must receive salary via the PAYE system, and earnings should be more than the National Minimum Wage after salary sacrifice. Employers who pay staff close to the National Minimum Wage should contact Cyclescheme to discuss the range of attractive options available that allow lower paid employees to participate in, and benefit from the scheme. There is no credit check for employees wishing to participate, and Under 18s can join the scheme if their guardian signs a guarantor agreement.
Also i read elsewhere you need a minimum of a 12 month contract.
