Cycling trousers BUT not tight lycra...Ooohh!!

Got some good padded shorts but am after something a trifle warmer for these chillier days..Type of thing I'm looking for would be reinforced-seat cargo pants style.
Not tight fitting (God forbid).
Googled and looked but they all seem to be made for a 10 stone, 28'' waist cycling god and not for someone a bit more substantial like me!!

Know of anything?

Have a look at TKMaxx - lots of Craghopper stuff.

I am using the Craghopper Kiwi Pro trousers

Stretch s very comfortable for pedaling, not too wide at the ankles (nothing a band won't cure)

If you wear your padded shorts underneath, Ronhill Bikester/Trackster's are reasonably cheap trousers (there are numerous variations, DXB in the title means they have a water repellent finish), plenty for sale on ebay, Amazon stock them too - Wiggle have some on sale for £12.99.

+1 for the Craghopper Kiwi pro (stretch) trousers Cunobelin just mentioned, I don't wear mine for cycling mind you (too nice for that!) but if you can get them for £18, definitely worth it.

I've got an older pair of these and for the times I've used them I can't fault them, I just prefer Lycra The only thing to note I don't know if its still the case, but Endura could sell them for the same price as the 3/4 Humvees, as the full length trousers never had a internal pad (you had to use the 3/4's pad).

Everybody resists Lycra for a couple of years. They always succumb....

I had some Ron Hill tracksters and now wear bib tights, but only in the dark...

No complaints about my Enduras, except that in the real winter cold they're a bit thin (even given the inner short).

For general cycling I wear Craghopper Kiwis, so much more comfortable for cycling in than jeans and less heavy and abrasive in the rain. For longer rides over 5 miles or so I convert to lycra as it is what I find most comfortable to cycle in and very breathable with good wicking.

You mean I look like an idiot when I wear mine in the winter......


I guess I'm off to TK Maxx to see if I can find any cheap Craghopper's!

Edit: just back from TK Maxx, not a single pair of Craghoppers was to be found. Checked the activewear section as well as trousers, and found one pair of Sprayway trousers and that was it.

Debenhams have a section and there are good prices in the store although do not know in Craghoppers are discounted at this time. Go Outdoors is another one to try.
