In the 1980s I knew an older guy who was a proper cockney.

If he thought you were taking him for a fool he would sometimes say: "Do you think I cycled up the Thames backwards?"

I'd not heard the phrase before nor since.

Worst photoshop ever. It's Pie In The Sky, ludicrous, absurdly expensive and illustrated by a crappy photoshop knocked up by a drunk short sighted pensioner in a Birmingham shed.

Whoa there a minute. Don't Dis our Birmingham sheds. Source of the Industrial Revolution, Steam Power, manufacturing, and many other things that we rely on in our modern world.

And leave our drunk short-sighted pensioners alone too. They probably built the Austin Allegros and Maestros that we still drive around in today.
Actually, scrub that. I'll let you abuse them, but DON'T TOUCH OUR SHEDS WITH YOUR LONDON-CENTRIC REGIONALISM!

If its to be that close to the embankment edge , why not just canterleaver it off the embankment ? I,m all for a cycle lane up the the embankment, cyclists in london are "braver men than I gunger din".
Doing things on water is always tricky.
