Nothing to do with aesthetics, more to do with road rash, sunburn and frightening the natives!

Now I'm in my 50s I'd start a panic with the local Police seeking to find out which zoo had lost an overweight, athsmatic bear with a distinct lack of coordination

If I see someone cycling with no top on, I immediately expect them to be holding a can of Stella Artois, probably holding a cigarette in the mouth too.... I then expect them to maybe start shouting abuse at little old lady Vera who's on her way to the doctors for her prescription.

Unthinkable personally. But maybe more socially acceptable if I were to wear a bra.

Certainly advisable if riding a recumbent or people might think you're carrying panniers!

Might be a bit off the topless cycling topic but I saw a rotund bloke cycling down the East Lancs Rd last Sunday wearing one of those 'I am a skeleton' bones cycling tops on.

That was bad enough for me.
