Cyclist friend of mine killed last Friday…..

Died as a result of a collision with a lorry (Now is not the time to get into the whys or hows) on his way to work.

An absolute gent of a guy - who no single person in the 700 odd strong workforce at his place of Employment / where I’m also subcontracted - would have a bad word to say about him.

Infact my last recollection of him is just a few weeks ago when walking past the machine he operated to be greeted by an “Oi - want one of these” - to see his smiling face as he offered me a piece of homemade chocolate ‘thingy’….

I put time, location etc together in my head when I saw the initial reports. And I’d not seen him post on Strava.

My worst fears were confirmed when I visited his Employers this Morning. It was still a huge shock. Feeling extremely numb today thanks for asking 👍

That is very sad. We`d seen it on the text on BBC but of course when it is someone you know it brings it home. Our feelings go out to his family of course and work colleagues. My wife always worries when I go out as I am sure everyone else`s does too.
