What happens when they mount?

I asked a PCSO that once

He pointed out a Cyclists Dismount sign and I pointed out that it was no compulsory

He then informed me that he required me to dismount

So I pointed out that there were no Cyclists Remount signs and asked where I was allowed to remount..... He did not have an answer!
