been to and helped organise a few of those... but not quite so big. I always felt a bit ashamed when the walkers start appearing on sunday morning, moaning about he noise and the mess, and clearly not believing us when saying we will tidy up. One of our all nighters made it to the local rag... Ravers Clean Up Their Act, was the headline... and the article was mostly about how much cleaner the stretch of beach was after we'd left than it was before we arrived as we'd picked up every beer can, every bottle, every fag end and all the nasty bits of flotsom the tide had washed up. I think there was one very small paragraph about noise complaints, but they were all from across the bay in Cumbria... so didn't really matter.

Mrs Salad and I were staying on a campsite down in Kent a few years ago, and I woke up in the middle of the night, convinced I was having a heart attack.

In fact, there was an illegal rave going on close to the campsite, and they were playing (very loudly) a record with a rhythm of about 240 beats per minute. It really unsettled my breathing/heart until I properly woke up and got control of myself.

Mrs Salad is deaf in one ear and sleeps on her "good" ear, so she can sleep through just about any noise.....

Shame about all the rubbish strewn about the place. I'd wager that wasn't picked up.

Depends on how conscientious the organisers are. The illegal party scene has a bad enough rep as it is. When i was involved in them we didn't want to tarnish that reputation further so left nothing but footprints behind.
