Just caught up with today's X20 race in Baal. Women's race saw Lucinda Brand establish a good gap in the first lap which she maintained to the finish. Valiant effort from Puck Pieterse, especially on the last lap, to finish second with Zoe Backstedt back from her injury finishing well in third place.

Very snowy for the men at today’s Exacta Cross. Not sure I’ve watched a cross race in the snow before.

The problem was that Wout turned his ankle when he went to put a foot down.

You could almost say that the injury caused the crash.
The lack of an effective foot plant stopped him saving the skid as Matthieu had done (you can see his footmark and skid mark about a metre further on}

Surprised a small fracture requires surgery.

It will be to speed up recovery. You or I wouldn't be offered it as having no surgery is often more beneficial, although recovery is longer. I'm glad I refused the metal rods in my spine, and a titanium and ceramic hip (although if the Docs had spotted the breaks I would have had a new hip - wasn't found for six weeks).

Another snow covered course at today's racing in Zonhoven. Puck Pieterse led the women's race from the start until the third lap when she had a fall which allowed Lucinda Brand into the lead. However, Ceylin Alvarado kept Brand in sight and was finally able to take the lead when Brand slipped up against the barrier in the last lap and she held on to take the win. Pieterse was third while Zoe Backstedt finished in 10th place.
MdvP won the men's race.
