Looking to purchase N+1, Cyclocross. £2000 to spend, discs a must. Going cross eyed looking at various bikes on offer. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I have one of these, bought as a frame and built up by me, very comfortable, no mudguard eyes, but I have fitted some guards without much problem.

Do you want a true cyclocross bike to ride cyclocross, or a cyclocross-style bike for general/off road use?

Cyclocross for general/off road use.
I'm currently riding a Dawes Galaxy for some medium range touring weekends, really fancy something lighter and quicker for a contrast.

That is a great looking bike, my slight concern would be if a carbon frame would stand up to the appalling road conditions in Devon & Cornwall.

Good looking bike for the money . Heard some good reviews about Planet X bikes,from fellow club rider using a London Road, I'd like to test some but only shop I can locate is in Sheffield.

That's there only shop now, they did have one in Barnsley but that closed last year, I have had one of their Carbon road bikes and rode it for a while with no problems, but I was never happy with the sizing (it was a large a medium would have been better) so sold it, there are several club members with their bikes.

Why wouldn't it?

It wouldn't be made of carbon off it couldn't hack it. A lot of mountain bikes are made from carbon and they are expected to take spills.
