Hi Everyone
I have been riding a Claude Butler hybrid for quite a while now but have found I am doing more road than off road work. I am now fed up with road bikes speeding past me but still ride on paths etc. Any ideas on which sort of bike to go with. Budget is upto £650

Actually looks nice for Halfords but have also looked at a Norca Threshhold and Verenti Substance, I am starting to get brainache

I was looking at the Verenti Substance at Wiggle to use to cycle to work. It seems to be pretty well equipped for the price point as it's about the bottom end of the cyclocross price range. With platinum discount and the extra 5% until Monday it's only £498 currently as well.

I have finished research and the boardman cx comes out on top (i think) but why do the wiggle, chain reaction etc not stock these bikes. The reason being I just hate giving money to Halfords.

Verenti substance is 520 steel so I reckon it'll be a heavyish beast. Actually 11.4kg not bad for an entry level cx
