West Brom got a lot of credit for bringing black players into the game, but West Ham beat them to it. In the sixties I remember watching John Charles and Clyde Best who were first team regulars, and against Spurs in 1972 they became the first English team to field three black players when Ade Coker played (And scored in a 2-0 win).

Charles had made his debut as early as 1963.
