@spen666

Do you have the information you need?

To try to be helpful I can tell you that the coastal stretch has lots of shared and dedicated cyclepaths. Moving inland I got the impression of lots of open, and not particularly interesting, countryside. But that was from a car.

Being serious now...
Assuming you're getting the ferry to Ouistreham, you probably want to follow the canal towards Caen to see Pegasus Bridge and museum, then backtrack to the coast and follow the D514 along the coast. That takes you past the landing beaches, and there's all sorts of war-related stuff along there. As I said, I have ridden it, but it was a slightly harrowing day. The enormity of the sacrifice there almost defies description.

Has anyone got a GPX or similar route of D Day beaches from Ouisteram to Cherbourg or vice versa

I have done St Malo to Ouistreham via part of the Cotentin peninsula, but intentionally missed out Cherbourg. Having been there before I didn't feel much desire to return! But loved the rest of the area. I will have a dig about on my Garmin Connect and see if I can find my rides, but it was a few years ago....

I can highly recommend cycle.travel as a very user friendly route planner. Developed by a CC member too.

Edit to add:
No record of my routes, it was August 2016, back in the day of Garmin Edge 200 so I probably didn't even bother taking it with me. From previous posts on here though, I know my route was St Malo, Le Mont St Michel, Avranches, Barneville Carteret, Barfleur, Carentan, Bayeux, Caen.

So roughly, this route: https://cycle.travel/map/journey/1030104

Thanks everyone for your help on this.
I am now having to try to work out how best to do this to connect with Ferries.

I'll be very interested in any posts you make about your trip. I'm hoping to do a tour in Normandy or Brittany next year.

That reminds me to get to work on Duolingo.
