D-lock 'diffused' situation.........

I habitually commute with a D-lock hanging out of the side pocket of my right-hand pannier at a jaunty 45 degree angle. This usually creates that extra bit of space for me from impatient overtakers.
Not just now though.
Country road.
WVM overtakes too close and makes contact with D-lock, which makes a satisfying echo-ey klonking noise on his vehicle.
Luckily, I'm in a strong secondary and so, despite being thrown off course slightly, I have somewhere to go and manage to maintain my balance.
WVM stops 50 or so yards ahead and Knuckle-Dragging Kneanderthal climbs out of cab and runs menacingly towards me.
I stop and dismount, as I've learned NEVER to confront or be confronted by K-DK's while still astride bike.
"Oi farker, did you farking hit my van, you farking daffodil?'
"No, you overtook so close, that you hit this in my bike bag." I withdraw D-lock and tap it on the road. It makes a reassuring solid klonking noise. "Did you want to make anything of it?" I ask swinging it nonchalantly with one hand into the palm of the other. "I think it's best if you go back to your van and drive away, don't you?"
He did.
Luckily there's lots of different routes home. I'll use some of them for the next few days.

I have just got home after a similarly close pass by a double decker school bus. I confronted the driver at a mini RAB, if I had a D Lock in my possession it would have been firmly rammed up his arse!

I'm trying to find out who runs the school buses in the area and I will certainly be in touch with his transport manager. The closet pass I have had in a long time.

If I read your post correctly, it was a bus being used as a school bus.

If so the contract will be given out by the local authority.

Yes thats my understanding as well. If i get no joy from Nexus the LA will be my next point of contact.
