thought it would be more relevant posting this here than in for sale....

Just seen this an sorely tempted to get a low rider just how i want it but ive not really given my Toxy TT a decent chance yet and would have to beg for a p/x anyways!

Just in case anyone is foaming at the mouth, like me lol

2 grand just for a 2nd hand frame set? A brand new complete entry level machine can be had for almost half that! Am I missing something?

Yeah, I agree. It does seem a bit steep, even before it was on for 800 and you can get a new frame set kit for that.
This frame set was originally on eBay assembled with a second hand set of wheels and drivetrain for 1295, which seemed a bit steep to me as you can near enough get a new one for that.

I had a chat with the seller after having a punt on a best offer, but they were unwilling to go below 1200.

Think I'll keep my powder dry until I can get on the cyclescheme again next year. Shame cos I would have had that.

That wasnt the price it started.

Ebay, what a weird place....

£800 for a Flevo pannier rack, really???

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Recumbent-Ligfiets-Pannier-Rack-Flevo-Bike-Racer-/251980933749?

The seller claimed to be from dtek when I pm'd him, but with this wierd pricing it all smells a bit fishy to me.

I've boiled it down to one of three conclusions; a) Drink, b) the seller is an imposter, c) the seller is from dtek but is having a cheeky punt on big prices to see if they can hook in a numpty on eBay.

Either way, I think I'll steer clear for a bit.

There are a number of greatly overpriced bents on eBay from 'dtek'. I suppose it works well for other sellers as it make their machines look like bargains at the moment.

Probably you are missing up to date data :-
Ebay might have had a few software issues or mistakes or gremlins with prices on listings
Unless Recumbent Flevo racks are also "overpriced"
The other missing bit is all the quoted prices for Raptobike are now two years old and the reason RB went pop is simple "because they undercharged" .
That's why Elan who bravely took over Raptobite and Challenge recumbents have such a mess to sort through .
Can you still source a brand new Raptobike in the United Kingdom or perhaps in Holland ?
The website listings or pages at Laidback or Bikefix in Little Britain still suggest Yes
But then again no but yes and then you blow a fuse when you speak to a human on the phone and told its a BIG NO by a lady called Vicky !
So if you wish to compare prices and fair values you must ensure
A. The price is up to date
B. The product is available
C. Wait and wait and still wait for the promised order
D. Grab a second hand one which is probably available today if you can accept the price offered

I'am confused and my names not Brian
