Hi All,
I am considering an offer to move job, but the new office will add 10 miles to my commute. At the moment I am
doing 18 miles return. I can do the 28 mile commute, but mrs.cyclist is against it. I really enjoy my commuting
to work by bike and hate to think it as a deal breaker. If any came across a situation like this, please Share your
experiences, and what are my options? (changing mrs is not one though :stop:)

Mrs Cyclists reasons?

ask mrs cyclist to buy you a helicopter to get to work, when she says no - then say you need to cycle

- Practical advice since 1999.

The increased distance is only going to add about 20 minutes each way so I assume that time isn't the problem ... Would the new commute involve much busier roads?

The route involves busier roads n mrs thinking about safety.

The distance isnt always a problem, the time may be..for you or the wife. Youre talking two hours per day travelling, thats quite a chunk. I tried part commuting last year, 8 miles each way on the bike, 14 miles each way by car...on top of 10 hour ahifts, TBH I got sick of rushing round trying to fit it in.
If youre only doing 8 hour shifts, thats different, but time was an issue for me.
