Click bait for sure, but this bit's odd:

CYCLIST JAILED FOR JUMPING RED LIGHT - KILLING SCHOOLGIRL

The cyclist had been speeding downhill with his ‘head down and bottom raised off the seat’ just as Leila and her au pair reached the crossing. Although the traffic lights were showing red, Benwell failed to stop and he was forced to try and swerve at the last moment when he realised he was about to hit Leila. But he failed, and crashed into the schoolgirl, who lives in Sandbanks, Dorset.

She was thrown into the air and suffered a fractured skull when she landed in the road, spending 14 days in intensive care.

And what's this all about?

Worryingly a number of road safety chiefs admitted privately to the Daily Mail that they are frightened of being too critical of cyclists and he cycling lobby for fear of being bullied, intimidated or ‘trolled’ – a form of internet cyber-bullying on social network sites like twitter and Facebook – by more militant cycling activists and hard-line ‘lycra louts'.

‘It’s a real concern’, said one.’ There is a real fear of a backlash from the cycling fundamentalists. They don’t like anything that smacks of criticism. You will get trolled. The cycling lobby will be on your back and it can be quite intimidating.’

Another noted: ’If you say something which the cycling lobby find even mildly critical you will face a barrage of criticism on Twitter. ’

If the Daily Mail hates cyclists, we must be doing something right ^_^

She didn't die, they just can't be bothered to check their own headlines. As for...

If that's the worst the "cycle lobby" throw at them then maybe we should be trying harder.

To think!! The cyclist might have been doing 30 mph!! Bring back the red flag laws for cyclist only.

Poor writing with obvious mistakes and blaring inaccuracies left in. No thing new there. My local rag reported on me and issues I had with my local school. I was reported as 3 ages and miracle of miracles one day I had 7 children.

Nice to be called a fundamentalist. I feel special.

Ridiculous - how do they get away saying "Killing" when she was not killed! It's all done to plant seeds in people's minds.

I just love a lot of the comments too, saying how 11000 is only those who were caught, there are 1000+s more so therefore nearly all cyclists are bad! But they all seem to forget this applies across the board: how many drivers run red lights, park in cycle lanes, have minor collisions they fail to stop for (e.g. in car parks) or speed and never get caught or prosecuted. And many of those are more dangerous than somebody doing 10mph on the clear pavement because it was safer than riding on a dual carriageway.

So are you saying its ok to break the law because other people are also breaking the law?

Not at all! Sorry for the misunderstanding.

But the comments seem to be saying something like there are say 5m cyclists and only 10000 prosecutions, therefore it's not all cyclists. The others coming back are saying, yeah but there are many more that don't get caught, so cyclists are indeed mainly bad.

I am simply saying that although there are say 30m drivers and only xxx prosecutions, the same applies there, but we're not all saying every driver is bad because we saw one get away with running a red light.

It's the same with any crime, burglaries, muggings, rape, violence. There are far more than the statistics say, but none of us would dream of calling every other human a burglar, mugger, rapist or violent.
