Was going to sneak out for a quick 20 miler today, to make sure I did more than last month... usual 'graph' of my year's rides rises from Jan to a peak in July, an occasional blip in August (hols etc) then a gradual decline down to December...
This month I'm five miles short of last month... wind today gusting up to 60mph...weather warning on Met Office site... boo hoo.

I absolutely sympathise - nothing spoils a good pattern like the wind. In my case, I was admiring the serried ranks of daffodils yestreday and today they're all blown over.

And the wind is blasting here too - hard to imagine the forecast sunshine for 3pm is going to come about but we can but hope.

It was fine coming in this morning, but I walked out to the sandwich shop just now and nearly got blown over! I'm hoping it dies down a bit before 5.30ish.

It's dry & sunny here, but far too windy to go out for a spin  Always on my days off, it's either peeing it down, or blowing a gale

Planned on getting out along the river today to try and do 15 miles. Wind says no! Might ride my bike to the local swimming pool for a swim instead.

I feel your pain, blowing 20 gusting like 25-30 and my ride in was HARD, something I need to get used to though as we get a lot of onshore wind here, known it to be 80 gusting 120

Might go out on my bike just for the challenge though!!

Biglad, please DON'T leave your bike outside the local swimming pool. Unless you have a £100 lock and have used it correctly it's almost a foregone conclusion that it will get stolen.

Get used to planning your bike trips so that the bike is never out of your sight.

Doubt I'll be going out for the next few days, all the bins (emptied thankfully) were lying about having been blown over today, the wee dog I was walking almost got battered by the lid of one, a while later my Labrador almost took off after getting spooked by a particularly vicious howling wind as we passed a block of flats!

Our Staffie only has 3 legs, do you think that she produces less whistling from her legs than a 4 legged dog??

Hmmm, looks like I'll have to investigate!

Nah - this morning was wet & miserable & a bit windy, this afternoon was very windy, though amazingly behind me for 90% the ride home - you just need to ride with the wind :bicycle:
