Ditto and im not what you can describe as svelte , I can see the benefit of discs on a Mountain bike when your up to your hubs in mud or if you buckle a rim.

On a Road bike I think it's more of a marketing gimmick

Hello mate, long time no see . As it happens I've got a CAAD8 and I really like it, the Synapse was too 'heads up' while the CAAD10 was too much the other way. As Paul99 has already linked to Paul's cycles I won't bother, I got mine from there and couldn't fault them.

Eh dude, you said that discs brakes on a road bike are a gimmick, you gave no evidence, not even anecdotal. Discs on road going bikes have been around for years and are taking off big style.

Like I said, you obviously have no idea about what you're talking about.

For example, the Genesis bike company have built on the strength of putting discs on their CdF bikes and most major manufacturers have added them to their product lines and some have even gone as far as only supplying discs bikes.
