im a little tea pot
I did live tracking with endomondo when I did my charity ride, we stopped for lunch but only paused it and within 2 minutes had my mates mum on the phone wondering what had happened! I almost spat my pint over the floor when she rang! Lol

It has it's uses! Had a great job the other day, where a burglar had nicked stuff from me house, which included an iPhone. We used the app which showed him about three/four streets away in another back garden where he was promptly nicked himself!

That's quite funny, as long as she didn't actually mean it - I can't stand the idea of being tracked or remote-controlled by anybody! (Probably why I'm still single, aged 56 ...)

Fair enough! I wouldn't dream of ordering NT to come home - well, unless we'd got a specific time to stick to and he was late, but then I don't imagine he'd be late, unless unavoidably (traffic etc).

I know I would take comfort from being able to see where he was if he was out alone - if I know he's had to go out of an evening during the week when we're apart, I'm always glad when he logs on here or on another forum for example, but that's just to know he's ok.

I have disabled the voicemail on my mobile and the answer machine on my landline because I can't stand other people and technology being in charge. (If people leave voice messages, they seem to demand that you listen to the messages and phone back ASAP. For some reason, they don't make such a fuss about slow responses to SMS or email so I am much happier with those.)
I am kinda on the same page , really gets my goat when people phone my mobile when i am at home and see people at work sloping off to send irrelevant txts, tweets etc that they brag about even though officially your not even supposed to have a phone on you.The company does turn a blind eye to phone carrying but i would not dream of answering a call or a txt unless i was expecting something important like an immenent birth or death till break time.

There must be a market for an app that spoofs where you are.

a bit like the computer defence on a Vulcan that made the radar think the aircraft was a mile or two away from where it really was?

The wife expects me to text when I get somewhere to let her know I'm ok / got there ok.

I wonder has the OP, and I know this suggestion may come as a shock to the modern, technology addicted person, but have they thought of turning the blooming thing off?

Yeah, we do that with long trips - especially with NT having to drive for an hour and a half to get home.

I don't get all this stuff about guys (it is usually guys, but that might be down to the makeup of the forum) needing permission to be out, or getting called home like that. Of course at the moment NT and I are only together at weekends, so we want to do stuff together when we see each other anyway, but I like to think that when we're together full time, we'll be able to arrange to have our time alone without needing to nag about it, and I don't think either of us would slope off to avoid domestic duty or social engagement...

Are you kidding? Most people I know, work wise, expect an instant read/response to their emails and start chasing if they remain unanswered for several hours
