Dario Pegoretti RIP

I just read that Dario Pegoretti died of heart failure last night. Truly one of the great frame builders. Very sad. I am fortunate enough to have one of his frames - a Luigino. It is so beautifully responsive, like nothing else I've ridden and when I'm aboard I actually go looking for hills for the sheer joy of flying up them. I wrote him once and told him how beautifully it rode - and received a lovely reply. I am so glad I did. I shall take it out for a hilly spin tomorrow in memory of a very nice man and a wonderful frame builder.

some friends of mine were good friends (and clients) of his. they’re off to the funeral on tuesday.

you have to see the bikes up close to really appreciate the artist’s work; eack bike had a message written on the inner rear stays...
