I was thinking more along the lines of filling my bath tub full of Jeyes fluid and using my Raspberry Pi cam to video any flashes of light that may occur.

I reckon it's just that we don't yet have the right apparatus to be able to detect it. Just a matter of time, methinks

Problem is how would I differentiate dark matter particles from neutrinos?

And if neutrinos are dark matter?

I don't think they are. My physics teacher at school said they were still trying to find neutrinos back then. They were using tanks of some fluid down a bottom of a mine. Since then neutrinos have been detected, so they can't be dark matter.
