I know nothing about these.

However, I would like to monitor the voltage and current requirements of an electric vehicle over the course of a day to see when and how much power it actually uses in its working environment.

Can anyone enlighten me as to how I might be able to go about this please?

I could just install a voltmeter and an ammeter but someone would have to make notes while driving and that wouldn't be practical.

Cheers.

a tiny current sense resistor, say 0.001 ohm rated for the power (4W! if you had a o.001 ohm resuistor) plus a bit more for good measure and a potential divider for the voltage - taking into account the input impedance of your sensor

Just been looking at the cycle analyst. Not sure if it logs or just displays data though. May need to research shunts and hall effect thingies to manage the current capacity.
