Good afternoon all, great to be on CycleChat. After a few years of riding more modern machinery I’ve gone back to my early cycling days when I time trialled on a bike built for me by Dave Russell by purchasing a DR bike that needs some TLC but is complete and rideable.

Thanks @biggs682 we’ve started to strip down the DR you very kindly sold us……the lad is very pleased with it and now the third DJR in the household alongside the Sid Mottram and Falcon Black Diamond and Orbit. Could be said to be something of an addiction !

Thanks for the message @raleighnut we did drop a note to Mercian with the frame numbers but unfortunately they couldn’t verify as to if a Mercian or not a Mercian owing to have lost a number of years of records. As far as we can tell ‘Sid’ is probably late 50s.

Definitely white along the bottom tube and a lot of green below the head tube and the rear triangle……no purple as yet !
