I was following the fight on live feed from BBC website. Sounds as if it wasn't the greatest fight ever and I was quite surprised that he won given the comments made during the fight by the 'commentator'.

Edit - but well done to him.

just seen on the news. Looks like Haye did very well. And really caught Valuev well in the last round.

I watched it on a live feed from somewhere else.

Quite odd seeing a six three and fifteen stone bloke made to look small by comparison, the commentators on there were also quite negative about his chances with the judges.

Shame he didn't let rip in the penultimate round as he had him all over the place at the end.

I watched it live, haye stuck to his game-plan contrary to old mcguigan (i think) constantly complaining that the judges wont like this tactic. He almost knocked the giant (rocked him) in the last round which makes me believe if he went for it sooner (like round 9) he would have won comfortably.

Not a bad fight, well done to the lad, another good british fighter destined to win a few more i think.

One of the most boring fights. Haye ran like a biatch the whole time and Valuez cant box for crap. Guys just 7ft of fat cant see any muscle on him, im in much better shape than him id be pretty confident in the ring with him hes so slow and doesnt even have a big punch.

Mate, you would be killed in a ring with either of them.
I watched it live, i was always saying Haye would win this, he stuck to his game plan and was very classy. It's not called running away, it's utalising your best attributes and grinding out a victory. It was never going to be a exciting full on war, as that would not have achieved anything.
Valuev was shown up to be the average boxer who relies on his size, Haye will go on to become the undisputed heavy weight champion of the world, no doubt in my mind. Pound for Pound he gives Pacquiao a run for his money!
I just hope the next fight is in London, been to see him before but never as a heavyweight.

Respect for going in there I say.

On paper the big guy was set to win. Although flabby he has an impressive record of knockouts (about 50!) so he has got the ability, and he must have done something right to have been the champ.

OK Haye was not as exciting as he could have been but really if you are going in against a 7'2" bloke who has never been koed in 50 fights you are wise not to plan to ko him but to play for a points win.

Haye has a good record of going for KOs in past fights. While the win was not an all time great boxing match he still did the job.

Pity there were not more rounds like the last though.

I suspect a certain amount of Dutch courage is behind these words, considering that it was posted on Sat night.
