I watched this last night.One of the best bits of telly for a very long time.It was incredible.His paintings are just superb stunning and beautiful.A whole prog about his latest work all about our Yorkshire.Watch it if its on iplayer.

All the advance tickets for the exhibition have gone. You have to go and queue for tickets on the day, and we're checking out the queue early tomorrow morning to see what time we should count on starting.

I'd hitherto thought that Hockney's explanations of art were more interesting than his paintings, but, for the first time, I found the pictures fascinating.

I must admit I'm no art expert but always wondered how Hockney had become such a renown artist, a lot of his work looked like it could have been done by children imho, however after visiting Salts Mill, in Saltaire & seeing an exhibition of his work, the guy is very talented. I was really impressed with some of his portraits from the 60s & 70s. Didn't see the programme last night, but saw a 'local' programme with him 'painting' round East Yorkshire with his ipad & was impressed
