Hi can anyone please give me some advice on this issue there's a guy who owns a bike stall in my area anyway hecsaid that he referbs bikes. So I thought I'd alow him to have a look at my bike. I asked could he just touch up the flaky paint and touch it up with the correct paint plus I had a bolt which had snapped off. I was hoping that he could remove it anyway when I collected it I was gutted he said the bolt shattered was his words so he had to retap it with a larger hole.
It's a really bad job I don't know if I can get it fixed the bolt hole is the main issue.

The hole does not affect the structural integrity of the frame but that hole looks pretty screwed up and I would give up on it.
Since its only purpose is to secure a mudguard you just need to work around it.
I would fashion a decent rubber plug and bang it in.
Then I'd use the hook thingy on the mudguard to slot down onto that chainstay bridge (rather than the normal washered screw).

Cheers for the help I can get another larger bolt in there to hide it.when I put mudguards on you won't notice it.

Depends how much clearance you have there. Worth having a piece of rubber between the guard and the screw head or whatever you blank it with. Then the hook will pull against that and keep it secure.

The thread is OK it just looks scruffy I'll have to put a larger bolt than normal .
