dawes karakum - worth buying?

Seriously looking to buy one of these, 2012 model.
I've done a cyclechat search but looking for a bit more up to date info - what are they like?
Any photos of the bars as all the stock photos are a side view

Nice bike, well specced for the price

My wife had one for several years until we upgraded to the Thorn Ravens

The bars are a brilliant idea as you can fit them how you want.... rotating the rear end up or down will give you a range of positions to suit

I 1/2 wish I had got another Karakum instead of the Nomad, I still have the Karakum in the garage and am thinking of re-building it next year and giving the Nomad to the daughter.

I went from a Ridgeback Panorama to a Dawes Karakum and i love it .. its a nice comfy ride and does'nt feel overly heavy, handles well both loaded and unloaded

Which reminds me of the one disadvantage.....normal barbags do not fit, you will need one that can be extended.
