Pretty much what happened to the poor Lady I helped out the other week . I have to say she was a lot better looking than you but I would have stopped for you aswell ;)

Mind if I ask if you where wearing a helmet ?
Looking at the damage to your face I guess you where . What I saw made me go out and buy one that day .

Do you think the helmet saved more injury ? Im 50/50 on ditching mine as I hate it but seeing things like this makes me grow up a bit . I hate doing that aswell .

Why would you even think about ditching your helmet, I would always wear one even if I'm on a route that had very little traffic, you ca do damage just by falling off your bike .

ALWAYS wear a helmet

A helmet is designed just for that purpose, in case you just fall off your bike. They are not designed to protect you if you are in a collision. In Denmark I would say about 70% of riders wear a helmet but in Holland it appears to be much lower.

It is a topic that goes round and round. In the end you have to decide what you feel safe with in the circumstances that you ride.
