Ibuprofen won't really help in this case. It's an NSAID that's primarily designed to deal neuromuscular conditions and it is not recommended for use in conditions related primarily to inflammation without a clear neuromuscular cause.

Paracetamol would be the better bet in this case.

Fair enough. Ibuprofen seems to work better for me than paracetamol for show throats, but it could just be me. Doesn't the AI in NSAID stand for anti-inflammatory, though?
