RIP Derek.

Presumably he squared up St. Peter and did him through the gate.

I can remember watching him at the Oval, Kent v Surrey when I was in my late teens. A lot has been said, and rightly so about Shane Warne, but Underwood was I think every bit as good.

I played against him. Terrible shame.

If you want to see him in action, and see the best ever catch taken by a 'keeper, look up Dilip Sardesai ct Knott b Underwood, I think at the Oval, and I think in the early 70s.
