Yep that was a good ride. Didn't even mind the soaking crossing Rainham Marshes really although it was a bit cold. 106 miles for me in the end. That's 12 consecutive months with at least one century ride. Now to start partying!!

Shame about your spoke Clive. You need to start riding a 36!!!

And just to finish, or stop as it were: "Clive we're stopping. Clive!! Clive!!! We stopping, CLIVE!!!!"

Ive missed you Mart

I still don't know which bit is the secret bit? But then seeing as I've climbed bread and cheese hill 3 times and don't remember, there's no point telling me.

Glad everyone had a good time. As the weather was so much better than last week, decided to do last week's planned ride to Guildford (ton plus recce for the Southsea FNRttC). Left 8.15, the 43 miles to Guildford (Pompey-Havant-Rowlands' Castle-Buriton-Petersfield-Liphook-Haslemere-Godalming) took just over 3 hours. As that was a bit early for lunch, and a bit shy of fifty miles, then went on up the A3 (in the hard shoulder...!!) for a bit to see if the bike path between Guildford and Ripley had been cleared up (it was really overgrown in September), thankfully it had. Went north as far as Send before doubling back into Guildford. Bargaintastic lunch at ASK (bowl of pasta for less than a fiver) before I went south again. Somewhat slower pace- headwind, and the gradients are less favourable in that direction. Same route until Petersfield, where I turned west instead (nicer roads and less lumpy southbound than the way I went up). Towards East Meon then down through Clanfield to Waterlooville. Reached the ton atop Portsdown Hill, before making home about 5.45. 103.24 miles in 8:05 (time excluding lunch stop), with a fraction under 4k of climbing.

Chilly start but soon got warmed up with a quick blast down to HPC from Watford. Met the others where upon we continued the trend for blasting with a speedy journey down to Southend-on-Sea. Being honest, today I felt out-classed by the lads. I've lost a fair amount of power/strength with this years overall low mileage and found myself regularly with a higher than cruising heart rate. Still a very good ride, squally rain and cold aside and a fitting end to my 100 a month 2011 challenge in great company!

Total distance 134.76 at an average speed of 15.4.

Your stats for today with a loss of power are still about 20% quicker than mine (the elevation chart on mine's rather more up and down, but....)!! Great going there.
