So im 17 years old, 257lbs, 183 cm tall. Some rats stole my bike last year and i really need to get a new one to lose alot of weight. And cycling is the way i want to do it.

Trek 4300
Trek 3900 Disc
Trek 3700 Disc
Trek 3500
Trek 7100
Trek 7200

I do believe i had the 7 Series last year and it was GREAT. I do believe they are all pretty similar bikes? But the Bike salesman explaine pretty good why the 7 series is better for me. Because of my weight and height.. So if anyone knows anything about these bikes what is the main differences between 3/4/7 Series bikes. Sorry i cant afford anything more expensive.

I remember the salesman saying that 7000 series had better/stronger tyres or something. And a stronger frame. Im not exactly sure but something like that. So which would you suggest?

I would suggest you ignore the salesman, find a friend who knows about bikes and take them to the shop with you, failing that tell us what riding you plan to do what your budget is and post links to the bikes you like.

This place is full of help if you ask the right questions

Im a similar height and weight to you and started out with a ridgeback velocity. Absolutely loved that bike and only sold it to get money to move with. I was getting higher average mph than on my roadie too but I think it has something to do with hills and me now actively seeking them!

Best thing to do is get out and test a few out, whats good for one isnt necessarily good for all!
