Defy Advanced 2 - Any owners out there?

Hi guys, been specialized disciple for a few years now but been looking to upgrade to a carbon frame.

Had my heart set on the roubaix sport but when i saw it in person i didn't feel the love. Shopped around a bit and found both a Defy advanced 1 and 2 in a sale, 1320 for the former and 1120 for the latter.

Tried the 2 and it felt, well, pretty good. Considering getting tomorrow but thought i'd see if anyone had experience with them first?

What model year? I have a 2013 Advanced 2 and absolutely love it. However, Giant changed the naming this year, along with the frame design, so mine would be the equivalent of the Advanced Pro now.

The Advanced is not going to be immensely different though, bar the cheaper wheelsets, but for that price it's a huge bargain.

My bad, the 2015 models. The 1 has the ultegra setup but i just prefer the colour scheme of the 2

Not a lot between 105 and Ultegra TBH now that they are both 22 speed. If you prefer the 2's colours, go for it

swish, any idea what's up with the "composite frame" being reference rather than saying carbon frame outright?

It's more a name for the process than the material, Carbon Composite as there's more than one material in there, it's bound with a resin to make it solid.

All carbon frames are made that way. It's quite an involved process as they are all built by hand.

Nice bikes been having same problem , you definitely pick the best colour option .
How is the ride any advice before I pick mine up .

Pretty nice, only done about 60 on it so far though

The compact bar and chainset is taking a bit of getting used to. I've been away for a month though (with no cycling) so am actually slower on this bike than i was on my standard frame roadie before i left lol. Dusty legs!
