I also find that most HGV drivers are pretty decent. When you've got that many gears, and slowing down/speeding up takes such a long time, theres no point getting impatient. I try to be nice to them, they're usually nice to me (one time I got a lift home and a cup of sweet, white tea from one of those guys, after a white delivery van had come out of a side road and t-boned me).

But like any kind of road user, there are some right wasserks too.

I've had similiar experiences and by god did I feel very 'on my own'...

Sometimes the fear can really get you.

Its either - 'one day I'm gonna seriously sort a machined road-user to the point of kingdom come...via me making them go in that direction..' OR or thinking phucem 'they can get on with it my life is a hell of lot more important than some twat who foot slips off the brake or whatever and I'm no more...'

Its not Nature it man-made and not very secure either...!
